Nong Ja and Magha Puja Day Thailand 2012

The other day we had a Thai religious holiday called Magha Puja Day (Makha Bucha Day) and I have written about it before here and here. Our local temple, Nong Bua Temple always has a big celebration. There is a Mor Lum show and many little stalls selling all sorts of things and also games for the kids.

There were a lot of people as always and Ja was very keen to get walking. She had her 3 incense sticks, candle and flowers for her offering.

We merged in with the crowd to make our three laps around the temple.

After our three laps we put the flowers into a large basket (they are collected and resold) light the candle and place it on the Naga serpent and the three incense sticks go into the sand.

After we finished the religious side of things Ja was keen to venture amongst the crowd of thousands and play a few games.

She took a fancy to a small remote control car. It was 199 baht that was then reduce to 190 baht. I thought it would be absolutely crap and another junk toy made in China.

Well I was surprised! It is really good and Ja had a ball with it and within 5 minutes had the hang of operating the two levers to control the car.

Well sometimes she crashed the car into the fence and even rolled it one time. But she was laughing and having a ball.

So that was Magha Puja Day in Thailand 2012.
