Thai Sport Day Shows, Part 2 Isaan Thailand.

Assumption Sport Day Show
Going way back in time here to Ubon Ratchathani College’s sport day and the amazing shows they put on before some sports are played. I have blogged about it a few times before here and here if you want to read.

This is real Isaan Style, mor lum music that north eastern Thais love.

Here it stepped up a notch as some beat boy break dancers came out to do their thing to big cheers from the crowd.

And this isn’t the end, this is only two teams to date to show their opening spectacular.

These kids had been dressed in these outfits from as early as 5am and this was now 10am. They had walked around 3klms along the main street of Ubon holding up peak hour traffic and there was at least another hour before any sort of sport would be played.

As you can see and maybe understand why I think “sport days” are a loud of crap but are mostly harmless. The kids get to miss many classes practicing for shows and other things, which of course is much more important than studying.

This isn’t just Assumption but nearly every school in Thailand.

This may be sport day, Brunty, but that goalie is not exactly appropriately dressed, is she. Great photos, and all that preparation was well worth it for the onlookers, I'm sure.

Lawrence I am sure that there is no such thing as appropriately dressed in Thailand. It really does not exist.

The effort that goes into the day 150% but it is weeks and weeks in the making.
