Conor David Purcell Goes Off in Court, Thailand.

I wrote about an Irish / Australian Conor David Purcell who got involved with the red shirts recently in Bangkok and was filmed on the stage addressing the red shirt protestors. He caused a bit of a stir and many people I spoke to said that he just doesn’t think before doing things.

I then wrote about him being arrested, over a visa problem at first but then held on other charges for violating the emergency degree.

I wrote, I hope that he had learned a lesson as he was a guest in this country, like so many of us. And Thai law and freedom of speech is different from what we might expect on home soil.

I had hoped that he would be given a slap on the wrist and sent home to Australia or Ireland. I thought that jail would be a bit harsh, that was until I read this article sent to me from a commenter, thanks for that.

Conor David Purcell faced court yesterday, being the 27th of May 2010. You would think he would be a bit remorseful and feeling a little sorry, but this wasn’t the case.

He seems to want to dig a deeper and deeper hole for himself. From the story at the link above was this.

He was led into the jail and was furious protesting he was being held unlawfully.

He refused to stand when the judge entered.

He yelled at the judge and told him that no one had the right to try him as no one had authority over him.

He brushed aside Australian help that was there, pointed at the judge and told him that he wasn’t under Thai law, but international law.

I read this with dismay. I had people who knew the guy say that, “he is a total nutter” and this seems to be true. I am thinking that he needs some special attention as he mightn’t be quite all there at the moment.

And to cap it all off, he claimed “I am head of the red gang.”

Whatever he gets now, he deserves. He had a chance and looks like he has well and truly blown it now.

The other interesting case out of this is the infamous Jeff Savage who was filmed in the video above, saying “We're gonna smash the fucking Central [World] Plaza … we're gonna loot everything, gold, watches, everything, and then we're gonna burn it to the ground."

This actually happened so he is really in the shit. Was he involved, I have no idea but he has had lots of comments made about him across newspapers and blogs, most that aren’t very nice.

Savage also appeared in court with Purcell and the Gaurdian has the story. He broke down in the court but too was outspoken.

He is apparently worried as his 80 year old mother is distressed over him being in jail and a heap of trouble. I think Jeff needed to think about that a while ago and not now.

He struggled with guards and claimed to be a scapegoat, saying that they are political prisoners.
These two guys look to be in very hot water and depending on their charges could face 2 years in jail, or if more serious even the death penalty can be imposed.

This is a timely reminder for all of us, but thankfully most of us here in Thailand do have common sense.

The two will reappear on June 4. They were even mentioned in parliament by the Thai prime minister. I will follow with interest.

Conor David Purcell Arrested, Thailand.

Conor David Purcell the Irish born Australian who made headlines a couple of weeks agi has been arrested. I posted the videos of his speech on the red shirt stage at the blog I wrote. Since then I have corresponded with a few guys and his service in the Australian army is true, in the reserves, but the extensive training with the SAS is apparently a bit of a stretch.

Anyway, he has been arrested here in Thailand. I just watched an interview with a man who has visited him in the Thai jail. Purcell was arrested for visa infringements, and the court handed him a suspended 2 month jail sentence.

But he is being held on remand for ‘violating the emergency decree’ and could face up to 2 years in jail. He was a regular face at the rallies and seemed very passionate about speaking out and expressing his views.

A few guys I have spoken to said that Conor just goes too hard too fast and doesn’t think enough before flying forward. This seems the case as well.

I truly hope he isn’t jailed, Thai jails are horrible places. What he done was stupid, no doubt about it. But being jailed is a little harsh. If he is jailed then the leaders of the red shirts deserve a lot worse.

If they find him guilty put him on a plane and send him home, I am sure that is fair enough punishment as he has lived here for a while now apparently.

Does anyone know of his charity work? What is it about or for? I hear he has been a charity worker as well as teaching English. Can any shed any light on this?

I am sure this is a very big wake up call for him, and I hope he learns from this. Back home in Australia you can stand on soap boxes and speak your heart out, but in a supposed democratic country when things are at boiling point you need to be very careful.

So Conor, I hope you get off and think before you go full bore into your next cause. What we take for freedom of speech is very different to others.

What do you guys think? Does he deserve to be jailed? Do you think this would be harsh?

Ubon Ratchathani Locals Unite, Time to Move Forward, Isaan Thailand.

Yesterday morning being Saturday, I ventured down to the local government offices that were burnt to the ground by out of control red shirt protestors. There had been a quick decision to hold a ceremony and clean the grounds.
Ubon Ratchathani Government Ceremony
People had arrived early and made merit by giving alms (food) to some monks.
Ubon Ratchathani Government Ceremony
There were plenty of soldiers on hand to help with the clean up.
Ubon Ratchathani Government Ceremony
There were also Thailand’s finest there to help out as well.
Ubon Ratchathani Government Ceremony
The Thai locals were waiting for the Thai National Anthem to be played and the Thai flag raised.

The national anthem was sung with plenty of passion.

The Ubon governor hung a flower garland on the hand of the King Rama V statue.

Some faces in the crowd. Many had their own brooms to help sweep the grounds and clean up the area.

The governor then scattered rice and flower petals around the royal monument or statue.

The clean up then started of the government offices grounds.

I spoke to many people and most were saddened about what had happened but when I asked if they were angry, most said, ‘no.’

I was speaking to one elderly lady and she had tears in her eyes as she spoke saying it was bad what had happened but now Thailand had to move on, this is what the ceremony was all about. Forget the past and move forward.

And most had this view, Lets get on with it and move forward and not dwell on the past as it cannot be changed.

I have to say that Thais are so much more forgiving then me, I for sure would hold a deep dislike for the people who did this and want them punished severely. But that is western think and not Buddhist thinking.

So Ubon Ratchathani seems to be on the repair. It has been very quiet at nights with the curfew and the red shirts seem to have disappeared underground maybe. Their radio stations were shut down and equipment seized and the owner and announcers arrested.

The following weeks and months will be interesting in how Thailand moves forward, how the Thai people unite. I know it is good to go to the market and not hear the red shirt propaganda blaring over he radios, it is so nice to have the chatter of people being the only thing you hear again now.

Unhappy Readers with My Views, Get Over It. Thailand.

I am a little surprised at how many people have been upset by my comments of shooting out of control protesters and looters.

Brit In Bangkok I stumbled upon her blog a long time ago and have enjoyed her up and down living in Thailand. But I have upset her over my blog post ‘Ubon Red Shirts Out Of Control’.

She has commented below.

Wow, you just lost my readership.

When you actually support a government firing on its citizens, there's something severely wrong with you. Very sorry about that :(

People who had illegally protested by shutting streets down, ruining businesses, stopping people in their cars at illegal road blocks they had set up and asking for I.D cards, then paying for the privilege to get through the road block, storming into hospitals and hotels apparently looking for soldiers and snipers and so forth.

Brit, in any of our home countries, any government would have cracked down severely after the first day. Shutting streets off without prior approval, building barricades and so forth. An ultimatum would be issued and then any force would be used to remove the protesters. It would be over in a few days at the most.

If the red shirts had protested in an orderly way, in a park or an area not shutting down streets and businesses and so forth, then go ahead and protest your heart out. Set up picket lines, do what ever you want but most importantly, and obey the laws of the country.

I have always said that every person has the right to protest in a democratic country. It is right to protest if we believe that something is wrong and we want to have our voice heard. But we need to do it orderly and lawfully, something I never seen the red or yellow shirts do.

I know you are a passionate red supporter. I have read your blog often and your views are your views Brit. I don’t support reds, yellows or any other colour involved in politics. I have no faith in Thailand’s political system. It has been an endless rollercoaster for the real Thai people. Not the elitist who are the parliamentarians.

Scandal after scandal, fraud, extortion, corruption and the list never seems to end of Thai politics. Politics across the world suffer from above to extents. But usually well hidden until finally being found out.

Brit let’s look at your posts of late and there are excellent pictures showing unarmed dead civilians.

Abhisit’s Government Shooting Civilians, Thailand’s unelected prime minister.

This is true to point as he was elected by a special vote after many supposed supporters of the then Somchai Wongsawat, Thaksin’s brother in law in the PPP party beat Abhisit in 2008, 298 votes to Abhisit’s 168. The National Assembly had voted.

Then the PPP was disqualified and caretaker prime minister Chaovarat Chanweerakul took over for a brief period. Then all the members of parties who used to support the PPP, defected to the Democratic party, For Thais Party (Puea Thai, the successor of the PPP), the former Chart Thai Party, the Thais United National Development Party, and the Neutral Democratic Party, and the "Friends of Newin" faction of the former Peoples Power Party. They crossed over to support Abhisit and he won a special vote. I don’t like the way he was elected either but this is parliament and how the prime minister is elected.

He (Abhisit) was on Thai TV tonight using "Bush speak" and telling people the military is only shooting 'terrorists'

What are these so called protesters then. They have weapons, be them guns, poles or slingshots, they are weapons.

Your post, Poor Thailand – Its Government is Useless.

Abhisit, who has to be the most useless Prime Minister Thailand has ever had.

You say this because he sent ‘text messages’ to red shirt protestors asking them to go home or not join the protest. So when he is passive he is useless but when he uses force he is a civilian killer.

Your Post, Censorship Alive and Well in Thailand. Even CNN Isn’t Allowed to Broadcast.

This is about an interview on CNN that was cut short.

Thaksin has been broadcasting freely to his supporters for so long. DTV and his live talk show he rallies his supporters with words of wisdom and good luck to him for it.

Back in January 09 in a live broadcast he likens himself to that of Nelson Mandela and Aung San Suu Kyi. I really am flabbergasted how he sees himself like this. These people fought for their people and right, they were jailed (house arrest as well) for 20 years plus. This man fled, he didn’t stand and fight, he ran away. He is nothing like them.

Your posts go on ridiculing the government, the police and army. You are upset when the army used force and 21 people died. These people died because they are fighting for a cause they really don’t know what it is all about. Many are sheep and just repeat what they are told. The majority of them don’t have their own opinion.

I have asked red shirt protestors, why they are protesting and the usual reply is, ‘for democracy and Thailand’ and if you ask them their view on democracy they have no idea on what a true democracy is.

Brit, these protestors were given an ultimatum towards the end, plenty of time to leave and avoid any blood shed, the writing was on the wall they were serious and people were about to die. They ignored this and then cry wolf about excessive use of force.

Why the senseless torching of shopping centres and businesses and also channel 3 when people were still inside this building. I know that nearly any other prime minister or president would have ordered a shoot on sight order. A warning shot, and then shoot the person or people if they do not stop. The people who are identified in video or media through pictures taking part in all of this need to be punished severely. Thankfully Thailand has a death penalty for terrorism, and many deserve to be put to death for what they have instigated. The sheep as well need to be punished and not see the light of day for a long time.

But these are my views, and mine alone. Many mightn’t agree with such force and that is their view. If I have offended readers and they aren’t going to read anymore, I really couldn’t give two fucks if you are so shallow and have your heads so far up your arses that you cannot get your head around another person’s views.

So Brit if you don’t come back, so be it. If 100 don’t come back I won’t lose sleep. I don’t write for approval of others I write to express my life and views.

The Aftermath of The Red Shirts, Ubon Ratchathani Thailand.

The following are pictures of the local government offices that have been totally destroyed. I ventured there last night and local people were there, many in tears and most condemning what had been done. All pictures can be enlarged by clicking on them.

Red Shirt Aftermath Ubon Ratchathani
Even this morning, nearly every person I spoke to were very unhappy with what the red shirts have done, they have gone too far most have said. It is sad to see such idiotic destruction.

I had some concerned people write giving me advice to be careful what I write. Yes, my thoughts are strong but they are my thoughts. I have written on the yellow shirts to red shirts and always said that I don’t support either.

I have always said that every person ahs a right to protest, to protest in a right way. What the red and yellow shirts have done is disgraceful. If the red or yellow shirts find my words harsh, then so be it.

I would stand and talk to the red or yellow shirts and ask them what they are doing all this for. For democracy most would say. But what is their idea of democracy.

I know most people are thinking what I wrote; the reds have gone too far. When any protest goes too far, when people get so out of control they need of drastic measures needs to be used to show these people that it won’t be tolerated.

Protest for a month, 6 months, a year or two but do it in the right way. Sit in the park and give your speeches, do street marches legally, don’t hold businesses to ransom and so forth.

I have also written before I understand why the reds are protesting, the current prime minister was elected by the members of parliament, so not by the people. Go ahead and protest but stop the burning and violence.

Ubon Red Shirts Out of Control, Isaan Thailand.

Because of worried readers I ahve decided to edit this post.

As most would know the situation in Thailand with the red shirts has now got right out of hand. There is apparent looting and fires raging in Bangkok. I have looked on the internet and it is saddening that these foolish people have gone so far.

Looters should be shot on site. Any person who looks like a protester a person out of control should be shot. This should have also happened to the thousands a few years ago when in yellow and took Thailand for ransom as well.

The people who used the kids virtually as ‘human shields’ in Bangkok to try and stop the army advancing, you can see pictures here. They should be hanged by a very long noose off the highest building in Thailand.

Even here in Ubon Ratchathani today, they broke into the local government offices and then set fire to buildings. You can see pictures of this from my friend’s blog of the going ons here and here.

I cannot believe these people are so stupid silly, well I didn’t think they were stupid crazy until this. All they are doing is hurting the locals with all this continuing crap. Do they think attacking the small provincial government offices here in Ubon is going to make a difference?

I am at the stage where if they are all shot are shot by police or troops I wouldn’t care one bit would understand why. There is a way to protest, and they have never done this. Not the red shirts or yellow shirts have any idea of what a true democracy is.

Thailand must look like an absolute joke to the world; how the minority keep doing this each time they have some problem with the ruling government. It won’t matter who rules this country at this time. Either the red or yellow shirts wouldn’t like them and decide to protest like they have been doing off and on for the past 3 years.

I hate to say it, but the military need to take over again but hopefully have someone with half a brain this time, unbiased, and actually have Thailand’s best interests on his mind be caretaker prime minister.

All the free to air stations are running ‘special’ programmes and doing continuing updates and press releases on the situation. Thank god I have cable TV, I am going for a ride in a minute, down to the park to see if these Neanderthals arsonists are still there watching their fires burn and admiring their destruction.

Okay it is now 8.48pm I have been out for a ride on my motorbike, went down to the park and all is pretty calm there. The government offices are completely destroyed there and more pictures here from my mate if you want to see.

Some people say there is a curfew here and others say no. There are still plenty of people out and about and no police to be seen. Tomorrow early I am going to go and get some pictures of the destruction the reds have caused. Why burning these government building is beyond me.

I truly believe that a shoot on site order needs to be given to police and the army for any protesters people causing public disorder. They have overstepped the mark by miles.

Tomorrow could be another interesting day here in Ubon and Bangkok. See what the sun brings.

Expat Food Available and Storms with No Rain, Isaan Thailand.

If you are a foreigner living in Isaan, around the Ubon Ratchathani area and you get like most of us, the need for some good old expat food. Then there is some good news.

Most expats I meet don’t mind eating Thai food, but after a little while you crave something without rice, chilli or deep fried.

Well Lance, from N-Joy (click here to see where N-Joy is roughly on Phalochai Road) the expat bar has just started ordering a big range of different cuts of meats, bacon, sausages, burgers and so forth. It comes from a large provider down Bangkok way and I can tell you if excellent quality.

Very soon there will be an order form available for you to check off what you want, it is ordered if not in stock and in no time you can be chewing some good old expat food.
Bangers and Mash
The other night I got some fat sausages, you can’t find decent sausages here in Ubon, well I never have. These snags were excellent. Not fatty and really delicious. It went with mashed potato and gravy. I cooked these at home the next day and it was an excellent feed.
Bangers and Mash
So if you go to N-Joy or know where it is ask lance about the tucker you can order, you won’t be disappointed. I am looking forward to some decent bacon with runny eggs on toast and a couple of the fat snags. Now that is a breakfast.
Storm Clouds Ubon Ratchathani
Storm Clouds Ubon Ratchathani
Here in Ubon it has been bloody hot. We keep getting what I call false storms. Thunder and lighting all about the place, dark clouds that look like they are going to dump a truck load of water on us. But in the end it is all for show and not a drop of rain to be seen.

The humidity rises and rises, even Miss Noot is complaining about how hot it is. So I know it is hot as she hardly ever complains. She has even been retreating into the bedroom and starting the air conditioner on the pretence that Ja is hot.

I am really looking forward to the wet season and the torrential downpours; I just hope they come this month and not next month. But again after a few days I will be complaining of the rain. I am a hard man to please.

Pattaya Beach Thailand, Relaxing at Sunset.

Some more pictures from our trip to Pattaya, Nong Ja had never been to the beach before and it was funny watching her experience the small waves wash up the beach and just playing in the sand.
The Girls
The girls wanted their picture taken on the golden sand of Pattaya Beach.
Noot, Ja and Chel
Nong Ja loves playing with Chel, she adores her and always was asking where she was. At the beach she followed her around like a little lost puppy. Ja was a little memorised as the water washed up and then down the beach. She laughed and screamed which was entertaining to me.
Nong Ja
So as the sun set, and it started to get dark. Nong Ja looked out to sea and the boats coming back to shore.
Miss Noot
Miss Noot wanted a picture as she was feeling a little left out. So there was a few pictures of her standing in the sea taken and this made her a happy girl.

Back to School, Will I Survive Isaan Thailand.

Well I am back at school, back to work sadly. This was the first year I really struggled to get motivated to go back to teaching. Even 1 week out before we started the term, I was seriously thinking of not going back.

I hadn’t stepped foot in the school since the day I went on holidays. Around 7 weeks of total peace and relaxation. I didn’t go in early as some teachers do and prepare for their classes. I used to do this, but holidays are my time and I am not giving the school anymore of my time, I decided a long time ago.

I don’t know why teachers are not back at school one week before students to prepare for classes, if the school organised the holidays properly this could happen easily. Instead they make us sign in at the school at the end of the school year for at least an extra week or two after all students have left.

Also this year I will not be marking exams in my own time. Each year exams are set on Thursdays and Fridays, and we are expected to hand in the grades or marks by the Monday or Tuesday and have all the paperwork completed. This means working Saturday and Sunday and won’t be happening anymore.

I have actually had a good 3 days back at the school, my two secondary classes, years 10 and 12 have been a breath of fresh air. It is so much more fun having students who can offer input into classes. Also they are much better behaved. They are at ages 15 – 18 where they know enough is enough.

I am still teaching 10 hours a week to primary 1, or 6 and 7 year olds and have been doing this for 3 years, but now it is mind numbing and just such a lot of work. You have to be so active and creative in these classes. I enjoyed teaching the young kids and last year I asked to be relieved of this task but was informed that I was the man for the job.

I have tried hard these first 5 days with primary 1 this year; these young learners are really mentally draining. It is hard to get and keep attention. Hard to get them to be interactive in the class. Hard to make them understand that this isn’t kindergarten anymore and they have rules to follow. Hard to do almost anything. It takes a lot of your energy.

My 10 hours with secondary classes, I have enjoyed, but the 10 hours with primary 1 has been a struggle and I really don’t see myself lasting much longer teaching them. I think it is time for another person to step up and take this role, I have done my time, and some other teachers need to have a go.

We also have a new director at the school, Brother Fern (nickname as his full name is long), he takes over from Brother Sakda who was director for 6 years I believe.

Brother Fern is very different from Brother Sakda or so it seems at this time. Our new director is very strict, I like this and he has given the students a huge shake up in the first few days. There have been some unhappy students walking about the school as they have had it a little too good for too long but this seems to be changing.

Brother Fern’s speech on Monday morning, he was straight to the point and gave the students a good sight on what to expect. He looks to be a stickler for rules. He has clamped down on the kids like they haven’t seen for a long time.

He has also stopped any snacks being served in our school during the 15 minute breaks. So from 10am-10.15am and from 1.50pm-2.05pm, all students can buy are drinks. No more junk food for the kids is longer on sale. This is a great move and hopefully might make parents pack students a decent snack from home.

If they want to buy drinks they need to have their own cups or bottles. The school will not supply any throw away plastic cups anymore. Also food bought off the school grounds cannot be brought into the school. This is mainly for all the takeaway containers and plastic bags.

The students can only eat in the canteen now. This rule was always in place but never really enforced but now there are no exceptions. This will cut down on litter strewn about the school for sure.

Uniforms, the school has cracked down on students. Only white hair ties for the girls with long hair, correct shoes or they are taken off the student for the day and they walk around in their socks for the day. Colour contact lenses are out, make-up, long hair for the boys, long fingernails and the list goes on.

All these little changes that are being enforced very strictly now has upset a few, but I love seeing the students a little worried knowing that this new brother will not take any shit. We also know that he won’t tolerate students breaking rules continuously. Over the years serial offenders who drove teachers crazy will stand no chance now it seems.

I teach year 10 or Matayom 4 as it is known here. I have them 4 periods a week and this week I only taught them once. Thursday was a holiday, can’t help that. Monday they were in a meeting with their homeroom teacher. And then Friday I went to their class. It was empty. I was told they were in our hall. I venture there to see what is happening and walk in on a mass taking place.

I opened the door; all eyes ventured my way of students, teachers and the visiting brother taking the mass. I quickly exited again as I was having nothing to do with this. Why all students had to be at mass is bewildering to me! There are only a handful of students who are practicing Catholics, the rest are Buddhists. Yes, we are a Catholic school and so forth but why waste teaching time for students on something they have no interest in. That is my insight.

We had our first meeting of the year, to fill us in on everything that is expected of us. Most of the meeting was fairly normal with the same old stuff. But this year I have it in writing only 3 days into the school year on how I “must grade” my students.

In writing in a little book that we were all given it was written.

At least 80% of students must receive a grade 2 or higher. (We have a 4 grade system.)

Grade 4 is 80 – 100%, grade 3.5 is 75 – 79%, grade 3 is 70 – 74%, grade 2.5 is 65 – 69%, grade 2 is 60 – 64%, grade 1.5 is 55 – 59%, grade 1 is 50 – 54% and a grade 0 is 0 – 49%.

So in a class or 30 students, you must give 24 students a grade 2 or higher. Now this probably would happen anyway. But being told by a bunch of pen pushers who are only worried about figures and how forms look when they are sent away to government departments; this pisses me off, a lot.

I have sent a copy of this to the Ministry of Education to see if they frown upon this (don’t think they would care about anything) and also Brother’s of Saint Gabriel (BSG) head office to see if this is a school directive or a BSG directive.

I was also told my class averages must be;

For primary to lower secondary my class average grade should be 2.60

And for upper secondary, or years 10 - 12 my class average should be 2.30.

I am sure that grade averages would be around this but again being told, “your classes must” makes me so angry. The people who write that grades must be this and that, they don’t teach my classes, they don’t see who works hard and who doesn’t. They don’t know who hands in homework and who participates in class activities.

So for them to tell me to grade “my classes” in a certain way is deplorable. And I will state here that I will grade fairly and honestly as I always have. Students that make an effort and try hard will get grades they deserve. Students who do nothing and couldn’t care less will get grades they deserve. I will not inflate grades.

To the pen pushers, I will tell you know. Do not tell me how to grade my classes. If you want to teach my classes and grade them, then please do. Otherwise keep your big noses out of my classes and if you are game enough to tell me otherwise, expect a tongue lashing and a half.

Apart from that the first week of school went well. I am trying to be as ‘Thai’ as I can and just laugh everything off, ignore what is said to me and just get on with my job. This way I will hopefully make it to holidays without too much stress.

A Cooling Ice Cream on a Hot Day, Thailand.

Nong Ja
I was looking through some of the pictures from our short holiday to Pattaya and these are very amusing. It was bloody hot in Pattaya, just like Ubon. Each time we ventured out you would soon be feeling the heat and looking for anything cool.

Nong Ja was a champ, she walked a fair bit which is pretty daunting for a tiny little 20 month old. Even on Beach Road, where hordes of tourists were rushing by, making their way to Walking Street bars to cool their thirst. Ja wandered along while I very protectively hovered just off her. Many times she got huge smiles and pats on the head from foreigners and Thais.

But a lot of the time, uncle Brunty was doing the carrying of Ja. Pattaya, no Thailand is not pusher friendly, so using a pram or pusher is virtually useless. We never took ours as we already knew it would be a waste of time. Footpaths or sidewalks are for vendors to display their goods and advertising and at times you are required to step out onto the street. That is Thailand, be it Bangkok, Pattaya or here in Isaan.

So with the heat, during the day and into the night when venturing out, cool drinks, cool towels (these are great and can be bought in any of the 7 Eleven or Family Marts) and of course, ice creams.
Nong Ja
My ice cream hardly lasts a few seconds, but for a little girl, it lasts a lot longer. I had to help her with some of her ice cream, otherwise it would have been a horrible mess. But Ja still managed to get it all over her face, floor and clothes.
Nong Ja
Ja was managing to clean her face herself at times, using her tongue. We had wiped her face many times and still she managed to jam her near entire face into the cone and ice cream.
Nong Ja
I had bought the ice cream from KFC, about a 400 metre walk from the hotel. As I said, mine was demolished about two steps out the door of the shop. Ja managed to make hers last all the way back to the hotel. It brought laughs from many walking past and of course us as well. I am sure Ja had no idea or cared as she was enjoying the ice cream too much.
Miss Noot and Joom
I was happily shooting pictures of Ja and had forgotten about my other girls. In the lift I took a few pictures of Ja and then was confronted by the two sisters posing, Miss Noot and Joom. So a few snaps of them quickly as Thai girls hate to have their pictures taken.
