Travel to Isaan to see Thailand as it should be. Simple life, genuine people and the most unspoiled area of Thailand. Isaan encompasses these cities and more: Ubon Ratchathani, Sisaket, Mukdahan, Udonthani, Khon Kaen, Roi-Et, Yasothan.. I bring humorous stories, notes, and photos to Isaan Style as a teacher living in Isaan.

Red Shirt Aftermath Ubon Ratchathani, Part 2 Thailand.
These are just a few more pictures from yesterday.
Around where I live in the States it's funny/sad to hear what people are saying about Thailand. People that have never been out of the country and some that have never even been out of this State. They now have a very poor view of Thai people in general. They have no idea what they are talking about. No matter how hard I try they will not believe what I say. They believe what they see on the TV and not someone that has been many times. One of my friends and his wife went to Thailand with me several years ago and even with just one vacation to Thailand they understand better than all these nay sayers. It was great to hear my friends stand up for the Thai people but, again no one believed what they said. Thanks you for your great blog. Jon
I'm a farang in BKK. I've watched events unfold. I've lived in Isaan too. I've sent several comments / feedbacks to the UK and USA media regarding my observations from a variety of media (BBC, CNN, Al-Jazeera, All Thai Channels, British Newspapers, specialist blogs, Facebook and Twitter) from my neutral non partisan point-of-view.
I've collected my comments at this quickly put together blog, which may or may not interest you: http://bangkok-thailand-may-2010-comment.blogspot.com/

Hi Jon, I have read many articles in newspapers abroad and seen the biased reporting as I call it.
There are always plenty who have never been places and claim to know all.
They are right and you being to Thailand are still wrong, let them have their blinkered view.
Thanks for dropping by.
