Here some of the kids are beneath the large Christmas tree set-up outside Ubon’s most luxurious hotel.

This is one of my primary 1 students, only 7 years old. Some of these kids were at hairdressers at 3am onwards; a fellow teacher’s daughter was required at 4am to have make-up and hair done.

And here she is with her sister, who is in kindergarten. Her sister is so confident and loves to chat with us foreigners every chance she gets. She is so adorable.

The outfits on the day were again absolute winners. The small kids sport day is always full of colour.

A beautiful traditional Thai outfit on show.

Stunning is all I can say, the dress was striking. The girl is in primary 2 and would be 8 or maybe 9 years old. Thai silk is such an exquisite product.

The kindergarten kids are tiny; this girl looked so cute in her outfit.

Two more kindergarten students, these boys were so handsome in their outfits. There are plenty of places that hire outfits like this out as these sorts of parades are so common in Thailand.

These are two of my primary one boys. The one of the left is a small mischief maker but also so jovial it is hard to get too angry at him. The boy on the right, man he can drive me nuts at times. He is full of worms, can’t sit down, and always pushes the boundaries in the classroom, But I love the kid as he is so interactive and alive. At times I feel like killing him and others hugging him to death. (hope that doesn’t sound bad in either way, lol)

This girl could strike a pose. I watched her pose and pout for the camera; she was like a seasoned pro.

This kindergarten boy in his suit looked so debonair.

A tiny kindergarten girl and her mother.

The parade finally started, nearly an hour late. It was only a short walk from Sunee Hotel to the school, thankfully.

Again this stupidly took place around peak hour traffic time, the good thing it was Saturday but traffic was still thick. The parade took up a motorbike lane and a lane for cars, leaving one free for the people heading to work, university or wherever else. Parents, man I would like to kick and bitch slap some of them at times. They are so bloody ignorant. I have pictures worse than above where parents are clambering to get video footage and pictures of their little one. There are pictures of parents in the middle of the only free lane of traffic, totally oblivious to the danger they were creating.

The drum major led the parade safely into the school.

But the star of the day was this little primary three girl. She was the “Nah Ruk” (lovely, adorable, cute) factor winner on the day for me.
I couldn’t stay much longer as I had to work; private students at home were not far away. So there weren’t any pictures of the fun games, that were played on the day by the parents and students, sorry about that.

OMG! The kids are so unbelievably cute in their outfits. I wish they had something like this for the kids in the U.S., but somehow I can't imagine parents here getting up at 3am to get the kids ready for the parade. Ah well, at least I can live vicariously through your photos.
Steve they are really cute and adorable. In Australia the parents would never do this, maybe a handful would make an effort the others, no way in the world.
The kids love the parade, dressing up is so much fun for them, hardly any sports are played, not so important.
Glad you like the pictures.
