Miss Noot ventured to Sang Chan Waterfall; it is only a few kilometres form her grandfather’s house.

Sang Chan Waterfall is famous for what you can see here, the unique round hole that has been eroded over thousands of years and the water flows through it.

The waterfall is very popular a few times a year when the moon lines up perfectly and shines through the hole as the water flows through it. I have seen this and it is very pretty but maybe not worth a long trip that it is.

Miss Benjawan and some beautiful wild flowers.

And they are very artistic indeed.

Ben could be The Next Top Model.

Miss Noot and Ben on the banks of the Mekong River, the river is very high at the moment and red coloured while all the runoff flows into it.

The gang climbed up the small mountain ridge and you can see the red and full Mekong River.

Miss Ben proving she made the climb and isn’t as lazy as I thought.

This is our friend Dor, relaxing in a refreshing cool mountain pool.

Up in the mountains there are plenty of these fresh crystal clear water streams. Thankfully not many people want to do the 2hr plus trek so it remains clean and mostly litter free.

This pool is beautiful, cool and deep and about three hours walk. I have been here a few times and it is well worth the hike.

Miss Ben ready to leap into the very cool and clean water. There are some big fish here as well which surprised me. We take a picnic when we hike up there and I feed the fish bread.

And another day they ventured to another local waterfall about 30klms away called Soi Sawan and also their little cousin, Beer tagged along as well.

Soi Sawan is easily accessed and is often very crowded. The last time I went there I did think it was very beautiful but was put off by all the young idiots drinking, making a lot of noise and also the rubbish that was around the place that the lazy mongrels just leave at their feet.

Miss Noot and Benjawan were on the banks of the Mekong River for the end of Buddhist Lent party.

This is Dor’s father and we have stayed at their house many times when Noot’s grandfather’s is full with visitors. He is a really funny guy, works hard, plays hard but is always happy.

The gang was sitting on the bank of the Mekong River, enjoying the end of Buddhist Lent festivities. There were some pictures of the fire rafts and also fireworks but they were just too bad to be able to print.
So that was Miss Noot’s trip away, not a bad way to spend 5 days.
