A Happy White Rabbit, Isaan Thailand.

If you are a reader of this blog, you will know I have a very special family member, Cola the white rabbit. Cola has been with me for nearly three years now and is considered a family member not just a pet.

He did have a friend, a brother called Pepsi but he sadly died not long after we got the pair. Cola however has never been sick, and touchwood will continue this way.

Cola is a male; he hasn’t been neutered as I just don’t trust the vets. After reading some information on the operation on the internet, and many reputable rabbit sites only recommending a vet who has worked with rabbits complete this operation I couldn’t let the vets I know have this chance.

When Pepsi was ill, I rushed him to the local vet and he was assessed and given a needle and then I was told to bring him back again tomorrow for another needle, but sadly he didn’t last through the night. So I don’t trust my vets.

I have downloaded a lot of information on common illnesses and also treatments if this happens and I would try to treat Cola first before taking him to the local vet. But again I hope there is no need for this and he lives a long and happy healthy life with us.

One thing he does miss is of course having rabbit company. He gets plenty of attention and love from us but there are certain things we cannot give him.
Cola the White Rabbit
I have his friend, his rabbit friend I found in the toy department of Tesco. It is a blow up rabbit. It looks real doesn’t it?
Cola the White Rabbit
Cola is very well trained. This is his litter tray and he uses this all the time and urinates only here. He also leaves his feces here as well except for the odd one that sticks to his fur.
Cola the White Rabbit
This is what Cola and his friend do a lot of, circling. Well Cola does all the circling, pushing and nibbling and his friend mainly takes what is done to her.
Cola the White Rabbit
Rabbits circle when they are ready to mate, it is like a courtship dance of sorts. Before I had read about rabbit behaviour and Cola would display all different sorts of behaviour that at the time I didn’t understand, but do now. One was circling.

He was doing it to me once when I was sitting on the ground; he was going around and around and would nuzzle my foot and gentle nibbled at it. I thought it was hilarious at the time as I didn’t understand what he was going.

He has also done this to Miss Noot, she once screamed out and scared the shit out of me and when I rushed out she told me Cola had bitten her. When I looked at the supposed bite area, there wasn’t a mark. It was a love nibble. If a rabbit bites you, you will know about it for sure.
Cola the White Rabbit
And what all the circling and nibbling leads to, is of course a very quick roll in the hay. The funniest thing is this happens over and over. I have to put the pretend rabbit away after a while as Cola is nearly hyperventilating while laying next to his girlfriend taking a break.

So that is a little on my friend, Cola and his girlfriend.
