I had completely forgotten about the concert and also meeting the two stars. It was only 11.30am and the concert wasn’t until 4pm from memory. I quickly made up a lie and said, ‘I will be at Sunee Hotel later, at around 2.30pm if that is okay. I am now out of Ubon.’ (Yes, not nice lying.)
So I bought myself a few hours to try and finish the house and then head to Sunee Grand Hotel for the concert.

I arrived at the concert and there were already plenty of young teens gathered for the concert. Golf and Mike had done a promotional meet and greet before this concert, travelling to schools in different provinces promoting the concert and there was a collage of pictures of their trips.

I saw some of my Assumption students who were eagerly awaiting the concert, they were special guests of Golf and Mike as they were one of the groups they met on the meet and greet tour and I blogged on this here.

There was plenty to do while waiting for the concert to start, you could sing for prizes.

Yamaha Fino Motorcycles were also on show; Golf and Mike have been promoting these trendy looking bikes for Yamaha for a few years now.

Some Assumption Students waiting for the concert to start.

Mr. Boss is a lovely kid and very polite but also has a very good sense of humour. He loves having his picture taken and some of the poses made me laugh at times.

Some Assumption girls were waiting for the concert to start.

I was escorted to pick up my ticket, I was a V.I.P apparently. I felt a little embarrassed indeed.

Golf and Mike were running a little late, what superstars don’t. The young fans started to line up and file into the concert venue.

These are soldiers from the army; I thought they were from the air force but an old student from Assumption, Mr. Bom now studying in Bangkok at Assumption University who was back in Ubon on holiday put me straight.

You will see these guys at many festivals and concerts; they help with crowd control and security. Mr. Bom said these guys were more aggressive and better at crowd control than police. I agree and have seen them in action at Mor Lum concerts. They are aggressive and when a fight breaks out they let the people fighting know, they mean business. They carry huge hardwood sticks and use them.

And this sign greeted you before entering the concert venue. It is a little bit of Engrish if you like. It always amazes me that with all the resources companies, businesses and superstars have, as in native speakers they continue to make funny signs. I don’t mind as I always get a good laugh.
So I was all hyped up and ready for the Golf & Mike experience. I truthfully wasn’t expecting too much but had to wait and see if I was going to be wrong with my assumptions.
