The other week we had another ceremony at our school. The flag raisers were on standby and ready to go when the Thai National Anthem started to play.

The students had gathered at the front of the school, and students had lined the balconies on our newest building. It’s a very impressive sight.

This was the reason for the ceremony, St Louis-Marie Grignion de Montfort.

St Louis-Marie Grignion de Montfort greets you after you enter the huge gates of our school. He is the central figure and for all to see.
He was born in 1673 and died in 1716 and a French priest and Catholic saint, He was known as a preacher and author and his books are apparently still widely read today and influenced a number of popes.
If you would like to read more about the man you can go to these sites, wiki, the Work of God, and even read some of his writing. From The Love of Eternal Wisdom, An Ardent Desire, Continuous Prayer, Universal Mortification, A loving and Genuine Devotion to the Virgin Mary and Consecration are all covered.

All had dressed in their best school outfits.

The student prefects were wearing their suits as were the Thai teachers. These wreathes were for his remembrance.

Every year students are asked to donate money and also the parents association and such also purchase wreathes.

Here is a nice donation that the Saint Gabriel Foundation gave to a lucky local recipient.

The student soldiers were on guard.

Attention, just like real soldiers.

Raising the Thai Flag.

Then it was time for our Morning Prayer.

It was then time for the ceremony to start. All turned to face St Louis.

There were some small kindergarten students also in attendance but well out of view.
I didn’t stay for the ceremony, I have seen it before and a senior member from the local Catholic Church attends and conducts the ceremony. There are prayers and other stuff I don’t know about and not really interested in.
I am not religious, the people who do believe in a god or higher being, good for them. I don’t care what religion people are I take them for their face value. As long as they don’t try and preach to me about their religion all is fine. I am an atheist through and through.
This was another ceremony at a Thai school.
