No Ashes Cricket, Cable TV Provider is Shite, Thailand

I reported yesterday about my cable TV provider and how they had changed the sports channels. I had been watching the Ashes Test match on Friday but Saturday the channel had been changed.

I was at their office bright and early and after explaining the problem and going over it on paper I commandeered their computer and went to websites.

The reason being, I was told that they changed the channel for football or also known as soccer. The two stations on the weekend S3 and S7 show live football, well primarily do. This is true for the English Premier League season; these two channels are on every weekend and carry 5 games usually.

So I went to the supersport website, I then scrolled down over the TV schedule and went over each channel with the main guy. Look at S2 channel, cricket on live all evening.

I went to the two channels that are currently on S3 and S7, S3 has three live games on tonight the first game which is meant to be on right now, being Coventry and Ipswich Town, isn’t actually on but a boring replay of Manchester United.

The next live game is one I will watch, the Charity Shield between Manchester United and Chelsea, come on Chelsea. And then a Brazillian football game at 2am in the morning.

S7 doesn’t have any live games at all. Except its programme is advertising the Charity Shield at the same time. I need the game on at the same time on two channels.

So after making my point that S7 was a waste of time because if any idiots wanted to watch boring replays of games they could do so on the internet.

I then asked about having S2, the cricket channel put back on. There was some discussion and that Bangkok would have to be called. I asked why Bangkok had to be called and all sorts of other questions.

I asked for Bangkok numbers, I want to talk to the highest guy, there is always one person in every company who makes decisions I wanted him but this wouldn’t happen.

I was then assured that I would be called as soon as all was worked out. I then assured them I was not leaving the office until things were worked out, be that all morning, afternoon or evening.

After 10 minutes I was told that they couldn’t change channel until tomorrow, I asked why and so forth but again no real clear answers. I again asked for this Bangkok number, I want to speak to the main people. Again I was told they couldn’t give me.

RTV is a local provider, there isn’t a Bangkok based department, I am 100% sure of this. These people were giving me the run around.

I wanted to scream fuc# you, and say stick your cable TV up your ass, but it isn’t any point. I am the one who loses this stupid thing Thais call ‘face’ I am not even going to go into this. It is way too complicated. Thais are just so backward at times.

I am going to go to their office everyday and complain and make an absolute pain in the ass of myself for a few weeks. I will ask a lot of questions use their computer and just waste time out of their day. It is good for me as their office is 2 minutes from my school.

After 3 or 4 days in a row of me complaining and whining about the channels I hope they get the idea in their heads that this farang is a little insane. I am going to enjoy the next few days doing this.

I am doing this as the last test match starts on the 20th of August a Thursday and finishes on the Monday the 24th. I will be in their office on the 17th onwards each day making sure or telling them I will camp there if they don’t keep S2 on for this last test match.

Tonight I am again watching the cricket through live streaming this time through crictime and it is a very good stream, very pleased.

The Aussies are on the brink of a win and leveling the series but the Pommies have fought back a little. Good to see they do have backbones although small and weak :)
