I then took some pictures of the candle floats at the following links, here, here and then of the parade here.
Another part of the festival is some canvass art work that is made from of course candle wax. Some of the works were really interesting and I was impressed on how they use the different coloured waxes to create their masterpieces. It can’t be as easy as using paint.
The following are pictures of some of the artworks.

Hope you enjoyed and you can see any of the pictures in much larger sizes just by clicking on them.

Thanks for sharing all these works of art! I really love canvas (being an artist myself)and the brilliant colors. Must have been really neat seeing the wax texture, I can only imagine. I wonder how long such an artwork would last though, given how wax can crumble and melt.
I also saw the piece with the foot on the head. Knowing how Thais feel about feet and heads, that was a rather aggressive image. Wonder what it meant....
Hi,
Thanks for that, very interesting and colorful. I like very much festivals in Thailand.
mak-mak
i wish i was buying for my home in Thailand at least 3 of these pieces would look really well on a blank wall in my living room

beautiful pictures i have bought a few nice pieces over the years myself from various street vendors there's a good feeling buying like this no art gallery.s for me
HI Amy, I am not much of an artist unless you call stick figures art. I was really impressed with the way the waxes were layered.
I have no idea how they would stand up over time as the wax does get very soft in the heat.
The artwork you referred to with teh head and feet was a big canvass and on an angle leaning against a wall. I also thought the exact same thing when I seen it as well.
Mak Mak I am happy to share.
I don't even know if they were for sale after the festival is all over or what John.
I really liked a few of them as well but as Amy said, how would they hold up over time?
John some of the artists out on the streets of Thailand are wasted talents. I have been blown away by some artists work and how cheap they are selling them.
