Sunee Grand Hotel Rooms, Ubon Ratchathani Thailand

The other day I made my way back to the Sunee Grand Hotel and Convention Centre to look at the rooms. I had reported on the dining area, foyer and also the reception area and also took some pictures of the food we had for dinner.

The reception staff, they are so friendly and couldn’t do enough to accommodate me. Not just really welcoming smiles but top service to boot.

The above photos are of the Superior room. It is 1,500 Baht per night. There are twin beds and a bath shower.

The above room is the Superior D room. It is 1,600 Baht per night. The bathroom is huge and has windows that overlook some of Ubon but the view isn’t that spectacular. There is a huge shower but there isn’t a bath though.
Hallway
This is the 4th floor hallway. It is Thai style I was told.

The above is the Junior Suite. It is a huge open style room. A separate bedroom and lounge. The lounge area is big. There is a big bath and separate large shower in the bathroom. The price is 3,000 Baht per night.

This is the Deluxe room. A huge bed and a bath shower.

All the rooms have writing desks, lounges and plasma flat screen televisions. There is of course a mini bar and room service available. As you can imagine being a new hotel the rooms are immaculate. All rooms come with a buffet breakfast.

There are massages, health treatments and also the dining to enjoy. When the hotel is completed, in around March the pool will be open. It has water in it now but the surrounding areas are not complete. The convention centre and meeting rooms are complete and being used. There are bookings for these already and on the weekend some 180-200 people will be making use of the facilities. The biggest room seats 5,000 people. That is huge. Maybe I can fit all my friends in there for my fortieth in a few years.
Waterpark
Waterpark
The water park is still under frantic construction and is meant to be open in March, this coincides with school holidays and it would be really busy if completes. But looking at it I am not sure this will happen. There is still a lot of work to be done.
The bowling alley is going to be where the stairwell is poking up, on the left so this looks a long way away. The floors haven’t even been constructed yet.

If you are travelling to Ubon Ratchathani and want to stay in a superior hotel then this is the place that you really should look at. The staff are excellent, food was good, actually some dishes were excellent though a limited menu at this time.

As I said before, when completed this complex will be the hub of Ubon and very busy with kids in the water park and bowling alley. The City Mall Shopping Centre attached to the hotel when also completed will also offer top quality clothes and accessories for shoppers.

This a great and badly needed addition for Ubon and hopefully will bring many people to Isaan, the heart of Thailand.

Nice rooms! The price seems good, too. I usually stay in Days Inn or Motel 6 when I travel in the States... Much worse room for much higher price. :o( ... And no good Thai food in sight! Arrrghhhh!

Andrew, The junior suite is huge but the deluxe rooms are also very large.

Hi Smorg, the price is what we call expensive for Isaan, but if you are in teh market for a nice hotel with good facilities when completed, this is it.

For a hotel like this back home you would never get a room for these prices.

MJ, we will. I hopefully by then will have sampled most of the menu:)
