Still Walking the Walk, Isaan Thailand.

I have been a little busy and hadn’t been able to update my progress on my exercise regime. I started exercising again after becoming very obese and hurting my back. I started the couch to 5K programme three weeks.

I have now completed three weeks on the course. I started at 105.3kg, which was my last weigh in at the hospital a week before I started running again. After the first week I weighed 103kg, after week two I weighed 100.1kg.

So I weighed in again on Tuesday evening and the scales were 99.5kg. It wasn’t a huge loss but I am very happy with this as I ate like a king through the week, all good food though.

So I started week 4 on Wednesday, the runs are becoming a little longer in time. I have felt good the last two nights I have done the programme. I am actually enjoying it a lot.

This week I am doing this every day.

Brisk five-minute warm up walk, then:
Jog 400m (or 3 minutes)
Walk 200m (or 90 seconds)
Jog 800m (or 5 minutes)
Walk 400m (or 2-1/2 minutes)
Jog 400m (or 3 minutes)
Walk 200m (or 90 seconds)
Jog 800m (or 5 minutes)

I am actually looking forward to next weeks programme as it is a progressive week with each day building up jogging times. On the third day I get to run 20 minutes straight. I know this isn’t any mean feat but not too bad for a fat mongrel.

So I am still walking the walk and hope to keep this up for the entire 9 weeks. I wanted to be 9kg lighter at the end of the 9 weeks so I am still on track. I set a goal of a kilogram a week for 17 weeks, that’s when I go back to school after my holidays.

In 3 weeks I lost 5.8kg and have eaten well, well but good healthy food. There’s no sodas anymore, haven’t had a drop of soda for three weeks. It has been water and banana smoothies made from low fat milk. I tell you they taste bloody good.

Man, you're doing well, bro! I think I'd really be having a serious case of withdrawal if I cut sodas from my diet (but then I only drink diet ones nowadays).

Congrats on getting to the right side of 100 kg! :o)
