I ventured to the Children’s Day celebrations the other day and installed for the kids other than games and stalls was also this. There were some parachutists who had taken too the sky and on this breezy day they were floating about the sky effortlessly.
I was watching other things going on and kept seeing people looking to the sky and pointing, I looked to the sky but couldn’t see a bloody thing; I am going blind I think. I don’t know at what height the parachutists got out at, but I couldn’t here the plane or see the jumpers for a good minute after everyone else started looking skywards.
The last three pictures were of the first guy to land, he did this without a hitch. He got a good round of applause.
And another jumper floated to the earth.
This guy was literally just floating at one stage; he didn’t seem to be falling at all. It looked as if he just hovered on a thermal. It could have been an illusion as I thought you needed an updraft off a structure for that.
The last guy to come into view got a good applause as he had a parachute in the Thai colours.
He was given a much louder and rousing reception on his landing.
This was just another small part of the Children’s Day here in Isaan Thailand, 2009.
