Dancing, dancing and dancing, Thailand.

This coming Friday we have a huge night at the school. Assumption Family Night is talking place. All classes have to put on a show, a dancing show for their parents to see.
Thai students dancing
The last two weeks. Yes, two weeks there have been students practicing their routines. The last few days it has become insane. There is music blaring out all over the school where different classes have gathered to run through their dances.
Secondary girls
The older students are spending time dancing but also using it to just skip class. I don’t let any of my classes dance. They study as there are plenty of lazy teachers who are more than happy to not teach and let students dance.
The stage
The stage is huge. This was two days ago.
Older secondary students
These students just looked so enthusiastic.
The stage 2
Today was meant to be rehearsals on the stage but it isn’t finished. Classes were cancelled through out the day so students could go through their routines, again!
Primary one dancing
Primary 1 students dancing.
Stage hands
The stage workers finishing the stage.
Primary 3 girl
A primary 3 girl.
Primary 3 boy
A primary 3 boy. That’s a dance move.
Primary one terrors
These are my primary 1 students. A bunch of terrors.
Matayom girls
And some older secondary girls doing their thing.

I am totally over the music blaring most of the day. Thank god it is only two days away and then it will be all over for another year.

Brunty, is there a single month in Thailand that doesn't have a show?

That would be impossible. A month without singing or dancing!!

Haha! Gotta love folks who take parties seriously, bro. ;o) I guess it is making you appreciate the quiet moments more, ay? :o)

Have fun Friday!

Any show in Thailand is taken very seriously. It always has to be AMAZING :)

that stuff should be banned, considering how far behind the rest of the world that Thailand actually is. the time could/should be spent on serious academics instead.

the other big problem that Ben told me about (my Thai lawyer) is that all the young Thais want to fall in "love" so they spend tremendous amounts of time in pursuit of that end. do you see that as a problem in your school too?

Dance dance dance. Dance dance dance. Dance dance dance all night long. You should be playing Steve Miller along with this post. Awesome photos series. I really enjoyed it. Third from the bottom is PRICELESS!

Carrie watching the kids dancing and some of the moves had me turning away in hysterics.

Sadly Carrie after so many weeks of music coming from all directions I am just hoping for some peace and quiet :)
