Womens Open Champion, Barham Australia. My mum.

I am sorry to my regular readers but I have been very busy doing other things and there just hasn’t been anytime to blog. As most know I love to blog or just put my boring life onto the internet, so I have had to have been busy to only write one post in 5 days.

I got a really good email from my parents the other day. My father is an avid golfer and has played for a long, long time. Mum didn’t take golf up until about 4 or 5 years ago. She has fallen in love with the game, which she thought was stupid before. Golf does this to you, makes you come back for more and more suffering.

Now mum has won the odd trophy here and there, not many and also dropped a shot or two off her handicap. Dad and mum have been retired for a while and get to play golf almost everyday if they wish to. They travel all over the place plying on different courses just enjoying life as retirees.

Now this is how dad broke some news to me about a tournament they had played in:

‘Now for bad news. Your Mother Won the bloody women's championship and I haven't heard so much bullshit in my life, the way every one carries on u would think she won the Australian open.’
The Thai crew
I am sure that dad was really over the moon for mum, but I can only start to imagine the ribbings he is getting not only from mum but also all his friends as well. Dad’s golfing mates do know how to really give you a hard time and then just keep on going. A round of golf is never dull or quiet with this crew. I can’t believe that people can drink so much and still see the ball, little only hit it.

Anyway, to my mother, The Barham Women’s Champion, Congratulations and I hope you carry your form into the weekend and get another trophy for bragging rights.

Lots of love from Ubon

MJ like you, I too laughed like hell when I read my dad’s words. I can only just begin to imagine the amount of ribbings he copped from mum and all his friends.

Hey John “ How long have you been playing golf?” (50 years) “Have you won a championship and so forth” I actually feel a little sorry for him, just a little.

The amount of times he ribbed his mates and mum are coming back to bite him on the bum :)
