A New Business and Thai food, Thailand.

John's shop
I went out to see my mate Big John and have a look at his new business he has just set up not far from his house.
Sewing shop
He has opened a sewing place, he gets clothes sent to him and they are already cut out and just need to be assembled, easy right? Well, if it was so easy everyone would be doing it. John is setting up his team of workers who are going to be really looked after. He has said that he doesn’t expect to make a fortune out of this business but after a few months enough money coming in to cover all expenses and put some in the bank as well.
Noot, John and machinist
Here John strikes a pose with Noot. The other lady is a machinist. The workers will work and stay on the premises. It is three floors plus a roof top area as well. There are two showers and also a kitchen that is nearly complete. The building is brand new. The rent is at a very good price for a month as well. You could buy one for 1.5 million Baht.
Construction
They are building a heap of these 3 story walk ups. This is looking out the back of his shop.
Construction 2
And this is looking out the back and to the right. The open walled place with the roof is a market and was up and running for a time until people stopped coming as all the construction was causing a mess and no where to park and so forth. Now it is closed for the time being.
Project sign
This is the sign that shows what the project is going to look like when completed. The building themselves are really poor quality workmanship; if John was buying and not renting he would have the builder doing a lot of fix up work. The finish quality is typical Thai building. Get it up and slap some paint on it and get out of there.
Restaurant
After visiting John we then headed to brunch. We stopped at a place called "Dook" after the cook on the way home, we had never tried before.
Kitchen
The kitchen is a typical Thai set up and there were plenty of happy faces.
Restaurant seating
The set up inside was good and it was very clean as well.
Grilling pork
Here an employee grills some pork.
Deep fried pork
This is our deep fried pork with a really yummy oyster sauce. A 9.5 out of 10.
Ox tail soup
This is oxtail soup and was average. I gave it a 3. The stock was just too bland and there wasn’t much meat on the oxtail.
Vegetables and pork
This is vegetables and pork and was a 10 out of 10. A really good dish.
Larb Gai or spicy chicken
This is spicy chicken, what is called Larb Gai in Thai and it too wasn’t great but again I am not a big fan of this dish. I like the beef style dish with blood added and boiled into the sauce. All up with a 40 Baht bowl of rice and a big bottle of Pepsi the bill was 250 Baht.

So that was how we killed a few hours on a Sunday, nothing too strenuous.

The place is very close to Wat Sa Prasan Suk. The temple is the purple marker and the knife and fork are the restaurant.

we hope that John's business is successful and not too big of a headache to run!

Hello Brunty
Very interested to see the photos of John's 3 storey factory unit. My sister-in-law has been considering renting something similar for a business. Have you any idea roughly what the monthly rent is on these units and where they are located. The sign on your pictures says Warrin Chamrap, is that correct. Cheers.

Hey MJ. I will pass on the message for you and he also hopes not too many headaches but he knows he is dealing with Thais and headaches are part of the territory :)

Hey Jay. It is near Hua Wang Nong or the big lake. The places range from 5,000 - 6,000 Baht per month to rent. There are a heap of these 3 storey walk ups going up all over the place. Not just in Warin area.
