Food, a hangover and good company, Thailand.
The other night after MJ and me had a late evening talking, eating and enjoying ourselves we got up a little late.
MJ gave me the green light to pick him and Hui-chen up and the first thing was something to eat. Because it was midmorning now the foreign breakfast on offer at the hotels would be closed but we did find a new place that has just opened called Nana.
So we ventured in and looked at the menu. The first thing that was a little strange and needs to change is that even though there were at least 7 or 8 staff working we were told that you had to order at the counter, like a fast food place.
Nana is beautifully decorated and not a fast food place but we worked out what we wanted and ordered. Another surprise was we got free cokes with our meals, must have been an opening special or something.
We sat down and again had a good chat while waiting for our breakfast or lunch, what I call brunch. I had a small headache but I didn’t let MJ know this, I hadn’t had the reminiscence of a hangover for a very long time.
The food came and Noot’s looked great. Really well presented and not a place where you pay at the counter.
We ordered chips and chicken nuggets as side dishes, I haven’t come across decent chicken nuggets in Thailand and these too weren’t great but were the best I had tried in Thailand.
The three sauces that come with the nuggets were good and different than what you would normally get with nuggets.
I ordered a pork burger with cheese, it was good and I did enjoy it a lot. I piled all the salad on top and then devoured it slowly. I would have given it a 6.5 out of 10.
Nana is beautifully set out; the order at the counter idea needs to be rethought. The food was presented excellently and looked great. We only had a few dishes and they were all good, not spectacular but tasty. Noot and I will go back again and try some of the other menu which was quite extensive.
Nana is situated on Chayangkool Road very close to Robinson shopping centre; it is easy to spot as there is a very large sign advertising the restaurant.
So after we had filled our stomachs we were off venturing around Ubon. This is another blog that is coming soon.
