Thai Ministry of Culture Announces Girl Band as Ambassadors for Songkran. Thailand.

The Thai Ministry for Culture has announced a popular girl band to help convince young girls to dress appropriately during the upcoming Songkran festival.

Now, Songkran or the Water Festival is a tonne of fun but girls do dress very un-sensible for the occasion and you couple this with young teenagers and older very drunk men this can only end one way.

Young girls wearing very short skirts or hot pants, also white t-shirts and tops that become see-through when wet only makes young drunk and obnoxious fools more fueled.

Most people in Thailand do play Songkran in a good spirit but also now over the last few years you have many opportunists who go for a cheap feel of some unwitting girl.

This is a statement from the ministry “the idea was to encourage traditional Thai culture and good manners, instead of the aggressive and violent behaviour that has become synonymous with Songkran.”

This is sadly true, young people are throwing water as hard as they can to try and hurt people, also using powerful squirters that are actually illegal now and squirt water into the eyes of victims with real force, putting additives into their water that burn peoples eyes and skin and so forth.
Anyway, back to the band. The band they chose to be the pin-up for teenage girls to dress correctly would have to be the biggest bunch of bimbos going around. I cannot stand them, not one bit. I sadly watched them live two years ago at New Years Eve her in Ubon and truthfully they are about as talented as a hat full of assholes. They couldn’t sing live, they sounded like stray cats in an alley fighting to the death.

They try and hide their lack or genuine talent by wearing hardly anything and then shake and thrust their way about stage to get most of their young teenage boy fans to go hysterical. Also, not trying to be rude but I have seen better heads on smashed crabs at a seafood buffet.

Why has the Thai Ministry picked this band? What on earth were they thinking, or not thinking?

Why not choose someone like Dai Orrathai who is a wholesome girl that dresses properly and lets her talent, which is her voice sell her records. She doesn’t rely on no clothes and thrusting and grinding to make up for shortfalls in talent.

Most Thai girl bands rely on dressing provocatively and some of the girls are so young, 14 years old and wearing clothes that no 14 year old should be wearing. But again this isn’t just a Thailand thing but a world thing with young upcoming superstars revealing as much as possible to sell records and videos.

I personally think the Thai Ministry of Culture has screwed this up big time but again that is my thinking and many others probably think they will be great ambassadors for Songkran. I hope this is the case but really don’t think so.

The Thai government should be more worried about the huge road toll that accompanies Songkran and get serious with this and put every available police officer on duty and conduct breath tests, speed traps, licence checks and so forth. I know I can hear you all laughing, even I am chuckling too, can you imagine this happening, Thais would riot if police actually started to police the road rules. There would be an uprising.

Hi Juan. To many Thais they aren't so bad, on dvd they sound okay, but when I heard them sing live it was very dismal. Maybe they were having an off night.

I will upload a video clip of them in the coming days and you can judge what talent they have.

They are only teenagers so they are still early in their careers.

I would be hopeless as a music critic as I cannot be politically correct. If a band to me is crap I say so. No point beating around the bush.
