Thailand. Family Night. Dancing and amazing outfits.

As I had blogged the other day, the school was getting ready for its biggest night of the year. It is a massive fundraiser that pulls in close to the million baht (1,000,000) before expenses. Here the tables and chairs have been covered. On the table is; two bottles of coke, three bottles of water and that’s it. The food was a baked fish, spicy salad, finger foods and a spicy soup. That was about it for 3,200 baht per table.
The cooks had set-up in two places. You don’t need anything fancy just some room and you are off and cooking.

Now, this guy made a killing. This was early in the afternoon before the kids had arrived and he had plenty of balloons waiting to be bought. One hour later there were no balloons left and he was trying to inflate them as fast as he could to keep up with the demand. All night there were balloons shooting off into the night sky after being let go by their owners.

I have to say that traditional Thai outfits do look amazing. The amount of work that goes into them is a credit to the people. This young girl would have gone through a few hours of make-up and having her hair done.

The hosts of the show were the same two teachers that always get stuck with this duty. They do a great job at it and are the best I have seen from our school.

The shows started with the littlies from kindergarten shaking their thing and the parents were out the front taking pictures.

This was an Indian theme dance and they did a good job of it.

These 3 young ladies were having a ball and kept talking to me in Isaan language. They thought my pronunciation was hilarious.

Now, these are outfits.

This young man got many whistles and did look very handsome in his outfit. He also sang the song and didn’t lip-sync like everyone usually does. He sounded pretty good.

This was EBP year 3 students and their show. I don’t know exactly what it was but their outfits were cute.

Miss Mae with the microphone was the singer for the year 3 show and did a very good job.

These are the handsome year 3 boys looking very dashing.

This is the EBP year 1 show and the girls looking lovely.

Here is EPB year 2 and the outfits were also very dazzling.

This is EBP year 2 students and look at the mass of parents trying to get pictures. I stayed pretty well out of the way and at the far right of the stage.

Some cool looking year 2 boys and lovely girls.

Here are some more of the girls and boys and their teacher.

A lot of the time traditional Thai outfits are worn and the look great. Here the girls are boys are dressed in clothes that were worn many years ago.

A dazzling Thai outfit.

Some boys dressed as Thai warriors.

These are two of my year 6 girls they were hard to recognize dressed up.

The amount of work that went into having all the girls dressed in such elaborate dress is a credit to the teachers.

This girl would have loved to have been born a boy. She is rough around the edges but has a lovely heart and I have never seen her look so nice. If a boy crosses her path they know about it really quickly.

Two year 6 boys with Thai flags were doing their part for the show.

The show was done to a song called King of Kings. It was presented really well.

These boys were having a ball and laughing a lot as they were wiggling their hips and shaking about and it did look pretty funny. It was good to see them enjoy themselves so much.

Well, that is the first lot of pictures and more will come in the coming days.

Brunty.
