Well, life is pretty simple at the moment. There isn’t a lot happening right now apart from work.
At school things will be busy next week when the school celebrates it Golden Jubilee or 50th anniversary. We have a whole week of celebrations and competitions.
On the Thursday and Friday we have other schools coming to help celebrate and also compete in competitions. There are speech, singing, dancing, art and so forth all happening over 2 big days of fun.
Today we gave out awards to the classes who spoke the most English in and out of the classroom on specific days. (It was a Thai idea to do this). The younger kids really took this to heart and tried really hard to get points from the teachers on these days. The older kids really didn’t seem to care too much so it was no surprise to the winners.
Pratom 2 or grade 2 were first and won for themselves a lovely big tin of biscuits.

The prizes were handed out by Mr. David who is from Britain and a 5 year veteran at the school. He has helped me through many things over the 2 years of being there. He helped me see Thai ways and how to go with the flow, most of the time
Pratom 1 or grade 1 were second and also won

the same. Also in the picture on the left is Miss B and is the Head of EBP. She is a lovely lady with a very kind heart and always tries really hard to keep all the farangs happy, which can be really hard.

Third was Pratom 3 or grade 3 and they too won a tin of biscuits. The teacher on the right is Miss Naremon. She is a Thai team teacher and helps out with translations at times and anything else the foreign teacher may ask.

My homeroom class of Matayom 1 or grade 7 looked really interested during the presentations; actually this is how they look during any assembly or anything else that’s happening.

Tonight for dinner the girls had fried chicken, papaya salad (somtam Pboo Bpla) really smelly, grilled pork liver and deep fried and crumbed fish skewers and sticky rice.

Doesn’t it look delicious?

Now I have had enough of Thai food for a while, well for every meal anyway. So the last couple of days of have been onto good old toasted sandwiches. Ingredients were sliced processed pork meat, tomato, lettuce, salad cream and good old salt and cracked pepper.
It was delicious and great for a change. I just don’t know how I will top it tomorrow night. Does anyone have any suggestions?
