Australia. Alcoholic 9 Year Old Boy Locked Up.

Well this interesting and funny story comes from my homeland of Australia.

It seems an “alcoholic” 9 year old boy has come to police notice 35 times in the last two years, but he couldn’t be charges with anything because of his age. Well, now he has become Victoria's youngest prisoner.

The young boy also knew police couldn’t do a lot to him because of his age and would often taunt officers that he couldn’t be charged. Thankfully he has now been locked in secure welfare this week. I would say this is a juvenile detention centre of some type.

Some of the crimes he has committed are car theft, stealing from cars and chroming (sniffing paint fumes from a plastic bag) and was also a suspect in a violent assault while on a train.

The State Government will be asked to explain how the boy was able to carry out his crime spree and descend into a booze battle without welfare authorities, The Department of Human Services stepping in.

It is a sad fact and has been documented many times in the past of the pathetic state of the welfare department and its handling of many cases. Either there are too many people there who don’t really care about the welfare of many kids or the other reason which I hope is true that they are understaffed.

Here’s an example: This current case is second behind the worst case the "Baby Ben" scandal in late 2003.

In that case, a five-month-old baby was handed back to a sadistic foster mother, even though she had inflicted broken bones, cuts, burns and bruises on the child.

This current case only came to the public’s attention recently and of course caused public outcry the department fast-tracked an application to a children's court. This has been done many times by the department with trying to hide cases as such to protect their constant pathetic ways of handling cases.

They are now saying that the boy: "He receives daily intensive case management with specialist child support workers and has an additional case worker,".

"We are continuing to work with support agencies and police to manage this child's challenging behaviour.

"A lot of people have been working hard to try to turn this child's life around."

Okay now for my rant: Hold on!

Where the hell are his parents? More than likely they are the pathetic drug, gambling addicted no hope losers that are popping up all over areas in Australia. They don’t work and live off of a welfare system that is disgraceful as it gives cold hard cash to these born losers instead of coupons. As soon as they have the cash it’s to the pub, batting house, or dealer’s house to waste tax payer’s money.

Okay, am I being to judgmental as he could have come from a normal household? Maybe a 3-4% chance of this I know that problem kids do come from well off and normal households as well but I am personally leaning to my own guess.

It sounds to me that he is a total little shit and if he had good parents they would have nipped it in the butt before it came to this.

That’s the other problem of today with welfare groups and their crying and blubbering about how parents discipline their own children. Where do these people get off telling people how they can punish their children? I believe that these people and governments have no right in this. I believe this is one of the current reasons to the problem with teenagers and the way they act nowadays.

I don’t mean that parents can beat the hell out of their kids. I don’t mean that you hit your kids and leave welts and bruises all over there bodies. What I am saying is the good clip across the head, a good leather belt across your ass and even getting the cane at school for a good reason.

I got clipped around the ear many times when I was a kid and 99% of the time deservedly so and also got a leather belt across ass. Did I turn out a mass murderer or menace on society? No, well not yet!! I remember when I was punished I knew I deserved it and I believe it made me a better person that I am today. I grew up and I knew what was right and wrong.

Young kids now don’t seem to know this and what we see as wrong, kids thinks it’s right, they don’t get disciplined so there isn’t any consequences for their actions.

Yes, I know that the kid’s lifestyle at home dictates so much about their character, so this comes back to the kid’s parents and how they grew up and what their parent’s, parent’s were like and so forth.

I blame one source and one source only. The Government! This is where the buck stops. Australia isn’t a massive country in population we have 20 million plus people not 330 million plus of America.

There are 2 million plus people in the Melbourne area. Okay that’s a lot of people but I hope that you can rule out a lot of the people as good normal living families.

The Government needs to change its welfare system and do this fast by using a coupon system instead of money. Coupons for food, petrol, transport, school and so forth. Remove the handling of money and even if this is only for parents that have been flagged as problems. These people cannot be trusted with cold hard cash and their children miss out and then after time I believe this where children start becoming problems. Again this is my rants and thoughts and not from a professionally trained mind of the situation.

So in conclusion. Does this young kid deserved to be locked away? Hell, yes. He needs to be locked away to be shown that the shit he is doing won’t be tolerated and it has consequences. He needs to be shown that if he doesn’t turn his life around he will end up in prison or worse dead at a young age.

Do I think he can be rehabilitated? I would like to think, yes. But deep down inside me I sadly say “no” and believe that he will continue to be a thorn in authority’s sides and also the general public. Maybe I am just too negative or pessimistic but again this world and its direction is doing this to me.
