Australia. Agencies Protecting Children are a Joke.

This is a story on the pathetic protection being offered to children in Australia who are victim of having unfit parents. The departments that are set up in Australia are a disgrace and are failing at their jobs miserably, and even though they always complain of being understaffed more needs to be done.

A mather on a cocktail of alcohol and the drug 'ice' tried to poison her three young daughters with Valium.

The children -- aged three, six and nine -- have been in the care of the Queensland Child Safety Department since the incident in February, but they could be back with their mother in little more than 12 months. This is the pathetic part and they should never be given back into the care of a parent like this. These people never get rehabilitated, let’s not kid ourselves. Once a druggie always a druggie, well 99% of the time I believe.

A gutless female Judge Fleur Kingham sentenced the 25-year-old woman, who cannot be named (as this could indentify who the children are), to 12 months' jail and three years' probation, calling the act a 'gross breach of parental responsibility'. I didn’t know trying to kill your kids was a gross breach I thought it would have been worse.

The retarded Judge said she believed the woman did not intend to harm her children. Wow she must be a former Psychologist and gave that career away to sit in judgment and pass piss poor sentences on people.

The woman struggled to control her emotions in the dock as she pleaded guilty to giving her daughters up to six Valium pills to help them sleep. It could have been a very long sleep.
The woman had been prescribed Valium by her doctor to help her control an alcohol addiction (see she was a responsible parent after all) -- just a day before drugging her daughters.
When the children ingested the pills, which she told them were sleeping pills and vitamin B tablets, they became drowsy, dizzy and were wobbly on their feet.

She then panicked and tried to induce vomiting, before calling her mother.

"I'm just ringing up to say goodbye to you and to say goodbye to the girls. Don't worry where I'm going, we're all going for a big sleep," she said. Doesn’t sound like she is a little mentally deranged at all.

The court was told the youngest girl could have died or suffered permanent brain damage had she not received medical help.

Earlier in the day, the woman had called police for help after losing one of her daughters after a day out at the park. (see it just keeps getting better)

She had consumed ice and had been drinking for hours.

Child Safety officers were called in but left after speaking with the girls' grandmother. These people are absolutely useless and this type of story is such a common occurrence not a one off thing.

The officers were cleared of any inappropriate action. An another amazing turn of events.
Barrister Sean Cousins described the incident as 'a desperate and dangerous act ... of a young woman who was screaming out for help'.

He said the woman had suffered abuse throughout her life and the pressures of being a young single mother were overwhelming. Oh the tears are rolling down my cheeks for this poor girl, what a terrible life she has. Why don’t they sentence her to come to Thailand and live in a really poor area and then see how hard things are. In Australia give these single mothers a truckload of money every fortnight which is always spent on the wrong things and never the children who are in need.

The woman was convicted on three charges of committing malicious acts with intent.
The sad thing is there are so many families wanting to adopt children and many are forced overseas to look at adoptions as the waiting lists and the red tape in excessive to the max.
Well I feel better now.

Oh also in Australia today an aboriginal or native Australian stabbed 7 people killing 2 and they were her own children.

Brunty.
