A British man has been arrested in Thailand for attempting to extort money from Tesco in the UK by threatening to poison food in their outlets.
He wanted 2 million pounds but was extremely stupid as he used an internet café in Bangkok a few times to send the threats. It doesn’t take a brain surgeon to know how easy it is to trace IP addresses.
So Scotland Yard traced the emails to the internet café and then identified the man as he was the only person there in the shop when the emails were sent. So he was caught on CCTV cameras and all the police had to do was wait for him to show up.
He showed up again and sent another extortion email and then police swooped. He tried to deny everything but then realized that he was sprung and has admitted all and issued an apology to all Thai people and employees of Tesco.
He is meant to be a business man in Bangkok looking for investment opportunities but he doesn’t seem very intelligent they way he went about his crime. So I give this guy the Dummy of the week award for being such a stupid tool and hopefully he will spend some time in a really nice Thai prison if Britain doesn’t extradite him.
