Another Rainy Afternoon in Isaan Country.

Well it is raining again something that's common now. It hasn't been the torrential downpours that we do get more just light steady rain. I like it like this as it cools the nights down and make them very enjoyable for sleeping. The only real pain is the non stop croaking of frogs that continue throughout the night, just like right now as I am writing this. I don't mind them too much it's only every now and then you get a Pavarotti Tenor croaking at the top of his voice right outside the bedroom window. Last year I remember going out looking for such a culprit but every time you got near the area, of course it stopped croaking. Five minutes later when you are back in bed it would start again. I am sure they have a sense of humour and are sitting around with fellow frog friends laughing with each other at the big farang with the flash light (torch) and a piece of bamboo searching for them

The air conditioner hasn't been used much this last month maybe 3 or 4 times. When I go to work and the other teachers have the air conditioners blasting I have to sit around with a jacket on as it's freezing. I have lived in very tropical climates for around the last 19 years. So the weather here in Isaan country Thailand is much the same. Yes, I feel the heat in summer but not many people wouldn't; but now it's very pleasant.

I am looking forward to a holiday on Thursday even though I have only been back at work for 2 weeks. I am going out to my girlfriend's village for a ceremony and then playing golf in the afternoon. So I will have photos and I will also explain what the ceremony is for (At the moment I haven't enquired too much).

Apart from this Isaan is being Isaan. Very quiet and peaceful.
