Costly Trip to Bangkok

I told my girlfriend to pack light as we will buy a lot of new clothes in Bangkok at the big markets (especially Pratunam it's so cheap). Well she has listened. I was amazed to see in her suitcase she has packed a pair of jeans, a pair of shorts, 2 tops and some undies. That's it!!

Luckily she has a little money saved and I have been working hard. I am sure that the bank account is going to be a lot lighter when I get back in 9 days time but holidays only come around once a year (twice for teachers, sorry. 12 weeks paid holiday a great job).

The biggest worry is taking my girlfriends younger sister with us as this is double trouble for me as I am sure it means 2 of everything that each one likes.

I am sure my mother will be buying many things for them as she never had the daughter she wanted (4 boys poor lady) and I am pretty sure she will spoil them rotten. I am like my dad. Tight with my money. I love shopping at the secondhand shops here in Ubon on the weekends looking for good bargains which are always around.

I am so tight that I think 99baht for a new t-shirt is expensive and 200 + baht is robbery. I am sure a lot of people probably think I am crazy and maybe I am a little but it keeps me grounded and I don't run around like a lot of expats throwing money everywhere buying anything they like. (If you read Stickman this happens all the time with Farangs living like millionaires).

Well have to check the credit card balances and warn the bank about an expected spending spree as I am sure they will be shocked when money starts being emptied from my account (doesn't happen a lot). And I don't want them freezing my card because they expect it might have been stolen.. (as if that would happen in Thailand).
